Only two crews from the UK have ever taken on the "world championships" of outrigger canoe racing and both were from Royal CC!   This year, 19 years after the first crew completed the race Royal CC Outrigger returned to the home of outrigger canoeing to take on the challenge again.

Two club crews participated in the mixed event - 11 miles around the New York harbour in strong winds with challenging conditions. Team Scirocco came in 9th and Team iRoc 16th from 17 entrants.
